A monthly run that can stand up later.
Payroll is not only a transfer. It is evidence of hours, pay, deductions and notice. We run it as part of the labour file, not as a separate spreadsheet nobody can explain.
- The monthly run Inputs in, payslips out, with enough time to fix a mistake before payday — not after.
- PAYE, UIF and SDL Calculated and recorded so SARS and the Department are not a surprise in June. Maternity and unemployment claims start from this file.
- Workmen’s compensation (WCA / COIDA) Registration, the annual assessment, and the claim when someone is hurt on duty.
- SIRA, where it applies Security Industry Regulatory Authority contributions for sites that need them.
- Wages, sick leave and leave pay The month includes the leave that was taken, not only the hours that were worked.
- Pension fund contributions Where a fund applies, paid with the same run as the rest of the statutory file.
- New starters and leavers First pay and final pay done with the contract, not against it.
- Queries from the floor “Why is my pay short?” is answered from the file, not from memory.
Employers often split payroll from HR. Then a commissioner asks why the hours on the timesheet do not match the payslip, and nobody in the room can say.
We keep them together. Same practice, same file, same person who already knows the staff.
